Make a button for the way you work.

Rule-based

Runs on this Mac

For the mechanical work you do again and again. Sort lines, remove duplicates, trim spaces—then reuse your rule on the next selection.

Describe
Explain your rule in plain words. With your OpenRouter key, AI writes JavaScript once. The saved rule runs locally, not through AI.
Paste code
Bring your own JavaScript. Check it on a sample before adding it. No AI call and no key needed.

Prompt-based

Uses AI each time

For work that needs language, not just a rule. Save your own instructions and apply them to the text you select.

Example instructions

  • “Rewrite in a formal tone”
  • “Summarize as three bullet points”

Illustrative prompts—not live AI results.

Your prompt is saved as written, with only outer spaces trimmed. Saving makes no AI request. Each use sends your selection and prompt to OpenRouter with your key.

A little bar.
A lot of useful things.

Get the words into shape.

Uppercase, lowercase and Title Case, right beside your selection. Try these controls in the browser demo above.

Native replacement is currently under repair.

Understand the long version.

Summarize selected text, or a selected link's purpose and key points. Copy, retry, or open the source from its card.

Uses your own OpenRouter key.

Translation language

Make a thought travel.

Choose among 43 languages, or follow your Mac's preference. Set a default and switch languages inside the card.

Copy and Retry available; Replace under repair.

Spelling, without an AI call

Select a single word to see up to five suggestions from your Mac's offline spell checker. Corrections keep case and punctuation; native replacement still needs Mac verification.

Paste plain. Leave formatting behind.

Paste clipboard text without formatting over your selection, then restore the original clipboard. Paste plain uses the same replacement path affected by the open regression.

Word count. Character count.

Two optional chips, off by default. Click either to copy its count. Characters include spaces; the tooltip shows the count without spaces.

Keep & reuse

Append to your clipboard or save a favorite. Up to 50 snippets, stored locally and ready to copy from the menu.

A price in your currency

Recognized prices get an approximate conversion. Click to copy the number; exchange rates are cached locally.

Stay awake a little longer

Caffeine keeps your Mac and display awake. Choose one, two or four hours, or leave it on until you turn it off.

Your tools.
Your preferences.

Pause from the menu bar. Set your summary length, language and currency. Choose which bar buttons appear and arrange them in the order that makes sense to you.

The app requires macOS Accessibility permission. Your OpenRouter key is encrypted using macOS Keychain. It is separate from the app purchase: current AI features use OpenRouter's free model router, with provider availability and rate limits.

A bar that fits your work

Show, hide and reorder built-in and custom buttons in Settings. Create action adds your own tools.

Bring your own AI key

Choose when to send text for summaries, translations and Prompt-based actions. Saved rules run locally.

A pause when you need it

Enable or pause Textwhisk from its menu-bar home.

A closer look, soon.

Good company.
Never in your way.

The riso fox follows your pointer, blinks, and gets sleepy after a minute of quiet. It fades near your cursor, catches no clicks, and doesn't take focus.

Show it in the menu bar, above the Dock, in both places—or switch it off. Caffeine uses a cup icon while active; pausing stops pointer tracking. Choose Fox, Poppy, Robot or Paper in Settings. All four are implemented; individual character behavior still awaits Mac verification.
